What can I expect from my appointment?
 |
Prior to your appointment we will send you our Smoking Cessation Kit which includes our instruction booklet, homework assignments and video. You will also fill out a questionnaire outlining your smoking habits and weaknesses as well as a medical questionnaire. |

We will review your information prior to your appointment and formulate a stop smoking plan suited to your needs. We will also review your medical information and medications to make sure that you are a candidate for the smoking cessation shot or other method of smoking cessation. |

You will receive information on how the shot works. Remember that the SMART™ Shot uses FDA Approved medicines. We explain in detail what these are. |
 |
You will receive further education on the addiction process and why it can be difficult to give up, without the right treatment & support. |
 |
We will check a spirometry as a screen for emphysema. |
 |
As a precaution, we may elect to do an EKG or rhythm strip. |
If you receive the SMART™ Shot:

You will receive one shot in the hip area. |
|
After a brief observation, you will then be allowed to go home with your driver. |
|
Plan on feeling a little "woozie" the rest of the day after the shot. You will probably want to sleep when you get home. Don't make plans for that night! |

We suggest that you have the next day off work since you may feel "a little hungover" |

You will leave the center as a NON SMOKER!  |
